Plans to build a new 12,000 seats stadium in Scunthorpe have been approved by the local council, a recent news report in the local media has been able to reveal.

The new sports arena will be located on the Lincolnshire Lakes development and the Council’s decision is subject to Highways and Environment Agency issues over access and flooding being resolved.

However, the local team, Scunthorpe United, hopes to move into the new stadium in July 2016.

Club Chairman Peter Swann said: "We will be able to announce details of the contractors who we have got to build the stadium in the middle of May."

Implementing a very solid and reliable site access control system for this site will certainly be a must, given its size and number of contractors that will be directly involved in the works.
