Flintshire County Council has recently approved plans for building a new care centre in Flint town centre, a recent news report in the local media has been able to reveal.

The Earl Lea Scheme is worth £9 million and was designed by John McCall Architects for Pennaf Housing Group. Plans include 72 self-contained one and two-bed apartments with a range of communal facilities. Four maisonette blocks built in the 1960s are also due to be demolished for the scheme.

Communal facilities will include a café, restaurant, hairdressers, sky lounge and multi-purpose rooms. Sustainable measures will also be installed, including solar panels and rainwater harvesting with combined heating and power systems.

Carl Grannell, Director at John McCall Architects, said: "There is a long-term need for independent, extra care living in Flintshire and this high quality scheme will expand the choice available."

Considering the specific nature and the future use of the new site, the implementation of a solid and reliable Access Control system on the premises is certainly a must.

Access Control UK employs a variety of access control technologies in order to create advanced solutions, enable users to exert solid, reliable and accurate control over the access to specific premises or zones.
