A landmark £5.8m innovation centre has just been opened in Leicester’s Pioneer Park, next to the National Space Centre, a news report in the local media has revealed.

The centre, built in the city’s science and technology park, is known as Dock and is set to house up to 54 new space, science and technology businesses amid its 3,000 sq m of incubation units, laboratories, conference facilities and offices.

Since handing back the building to owners Leicester City Council in the autumn, more than one third of the work space created has been occupied, including the largest unit. When fully occupied, it is anticipated Dock will provide up to 150 new jobs for the city.

Given the building’s particular features, installing a very solid and reliable access control system designed to manage access to the site is an extremely important step.

Access Control UK employs a variety of access control technologies, including here RFID, to create advanced solutions, enable users to exert solid, reliable and accurate control over the access to specific premises or zones.
