Phonak, a company specializing in the development of advanced hearing aid solutions, has revealed plans to extend to a new 42,000 sq ft manufacturing hub in Warrington.

According to a media report, the new base is set to become a European manufacturing centre employing more than 200 staff, with bespoke laboratories, production and logistics space and capacity for further expansion.

There is also a staff restaurant, which will double up as a conference facility, holding up to approximately 120 people, plus a training academy, audiology room and meeting rooms.

Phonak’s managing director Stuart Neilson said: "Warrington is a great place for us to do business.

"This new facility for custom-made hearing devices will enable us to manufacture products for seven different countries around the world. This new move will be a very natural transition, as the company has expanded over last 15 years we have grown from one building to three.”

"This new building will enable us to bring all of those staff together in one place and we will double our available space…. providing the space we need for our long term growth plans over the next ten to 15 years." Mr. Neilson added.

Naturally, such an extensive new site will also require the implementation of a very complex, solid and reliable access control system, and this is exactly where Access Control UK will manage to put its expertise to good work, given the fact that we offer an extensive level of experience in designing and delivering reliable, secure and affordable high-spec solutions.

The flagship offering in our extensive lineup is represented by the Access Lite.NET/Enterprise.NET systems, capable of providing from one access control point to a multi-site network of scanners and clocks.

The systems are easily operated by contactless smart cards, which means that access is granted / denied instantly. Furthermore, the systems can also work with physical security devices and have no limits in terms of the number of employees registered.

Additional extra features worth mentioning include two-factor authentication through biometrics, as well as the fast and easy integration with other systems.
