The Princess Alexandra Hospital in Harlow is set to get a new £2.8m ward that will be built close to the Accident and Emergency Department and will provide 20 extra beds, a news report in the local media has revealed.

Furthermore, construction will include 60 extra places at the Linkway multi-storey car park.

Melanie Walker, trust chief executive, said: "It will be business as usual in the hospital throughout the construction period and this extra investment in bed availability will help us improve the care of all of our patients.

"I would ask everyone to bear with us, particularly during the initial construction phase, and we will do all we can to minimise parking disruption."

Given the nature of the building and its future use, installing a solid and reliable access control system might be a very good idea, and this is specifically where Access Control UK could put its extensive experience to very good use.
