Crafter’s Companion, a County Durham-based designer, manufacturer and supplier of craft-related products, has recently revealed plans to invest more than £100,000 to improve its packing and distribution facility in Coundon.

According to a media report, this move formed a key part of its expansion plans over the next five years. Crafter’s Companion’s products are sold through retail outlets and TV shopping channels, as well as via an online platform.

Crafter’s Companion founder Sara Davies said: "We now deal with thousands of product lines on a daily basis so phase one of our investment is about doubling our warehousing space. This will allow us to improve our packing, storage and distribution operation to ensure we always have products in stock and can get them to our customers as quickly as possible.”

"As a huge proportion of our revenue is generated online directly through web platforms, the second phase will see major spend on our technical systems to streamline processes and ensure they are easy to use for our loyal end customers" Ms. Davies added.

Any packing, storage and distribution operation should also feature a very secure and reliable access control solution put in place, and this is exactly where Access Control UK can put its expertise to good work, since we offer an extensive level of experience in designing and delivering reliable, secure and affordable high-spec solutions.

The flagship offering in our extensive lineup is represented by the Access Lite.NET/Enterprise.NET systems, capable of providing from one access control point to a multi-site network of scanners and clocks.

The systems are easily operated by contactless smart cards, which means that access is granted / denied instantly. Furthermore, the systems can also work with physical security devices and have no limits in terms of the number of employees registered.

Additional extra features worth mentioning include two-factor authentication through biometrics, as well as the fast and easy integration with other systems.
