A 1 million sq ft manufacturing facility is set to be built on a 23-acre South Cambridgeshire site, creating no less than 460 jobs for the local area in the process, a news report in the local business media has revealed.

Gestamp Tallent Ltd, who manufactures various products for BMW and Bentley, has just received planning approval for the manufacturing development on Bourn Airfield in St Ives, on a site that is currently occupied by four buildings with three dating back to the Second World War and one built during the 1960s.

The existing site contains warehouse and production facilities totalling 194,967 sq ft., while the area proposed for construction is approximately 1 million sq ft and will cover 18.3 per cent of the site.

Since we’re talking about a huge industrial development, with multiple buildings serving a variety of purposes, then installing a very solid and reliable access control system at the company’s new site is really a must, and this is specifically where Access Control UK could lend a helping hand.

If you’d like to find out more about the range of solutions supplied by Access Control UK, both in terms of hardware (smart card readers, biometric readers, turnstiles, etc.) and software (access rights management software solutions, etc.), just contact us, we’ll be more than happy to answer any queries you might have.
