Northern Ireland leasing company to double workforce
Leave a CommentDonnelly Finance and Leasing has revealed plans to double its workforce in Northern Ireland with the creation of 15 jobs over the next three years, as a part of their expansion schedule.
According to a news report, the vehicle leasing company, which is a part of the Donnelly Group, will open offices at the group’s seven sites.
Terence Donnelly, managing director of the Donnelly Group, said: “We are announcing the expansion of Donnelly Finance and Leasing which will now spread from our Mallusk site to all seven sites within the Donnelly Group.”

A memorial fund to a teenager was stolen from a youth club. More than £600 raised through sales of wrist bands and donations was taken from the youth centre in the west country. Thieves broke into the safe containing the money raised along with funds owned by the club and all its contents had been taken. Arran Bees, manager of the youth club, said: 
Police confirmed they have caught a man who went on the run. The man, described as “insulin dependent” and now goes under the name of Philip Whiteman, absconded from his secure facility. He married a nurse while he was a patient at high-security Rampton Hospital in 2008 and had also been a patient at Broadmoor. He was located safely and returned to a secure hospital after a day on the run.
Burglars burst overnight into a golf club and stole 35 items between 23:45 GMT on December 22 and 02:00 on December 23. Police said a quantity of silverware was stolen in the robbery, which was one of several involving golf clubs in the Surrey area recently. Det Con Portia Andrews said the items were of “great sentimental value to the club and its members”. She urged metal dealers to look out for the items.
An MP claims there are 4,000 fewer police officers working on the front line in London’s boroughs than there were two years ago. According to figures from March 2010 to April 2012 obtained by Gareth Thomas via a Freedom of Information Act request, borough and community police officers had decreased from 25,036 to 20,951. “David Cameron needs to explain” the figures, Mr Thomas said, 
The National Offender Management Service (Noms) is rushing to make improvements to a jail given a scathing report. A surprise visit in August by inspectors found serious failings at Lincoln Prison. Chief executive of Noms, Michael Spurr, said: “This is not acceptable and we have taken urgent action to address the chief inspector’s concerns.” He added: 
Non-ferrous metals like aluminium and copper are becoming increasing targets for thieves, which is why new laws have been put in place to fight metal thefts. Home Secretary Theresa May announced the changes in January, saying cash payments for metal at scrap yards had resulted in “anonymous, low-risk transactions” for thieves and led to “poor record keeping” within the trade. The metal recycling industry employs almost 8,000 people in the UK and is worth about £5.6 billion a year.
A police force has warned “unfair funding” may boost crime in its vicinity. The new Police and Crime Commissioner of West Midlands Bob Jones said the force he controls had lost out on more than £270m of central funding in seven years. In response the Home Office said the ‘damping’ process, which imposes a series of limits for funding the UK’s 43 police forces, was currently being reviewed. The result of this review was expected within a month.
