Willmott Dixon to develop new school in Liverpool
Construction company Willmot Dixon has revealed plans to build a new school in Liverpool on behalf of the local council, a recent media news report on the matter was able to reveal.
The company is working with architect consultancy Sheppard Robson to build the new Archbishop Blanch Secondary School in Liverpool’s Smithdown Road. The new 10,500m2, three storey school, will follow the same internal layout of the previous two schools in that classrooms are visible from several points – the whole school can be seen from one particular point – and there are no corridors.
There is also solar-paneled roof to generate electricity, a theatre and recording and dance studios, while the facility will also include a synthetic sports pitch that opens in September 2015.
