Drive Medical, a multinational manufacturer and distributor of medical equipment for use in the home healthcare, surgical, medical and rehabilitation sectors, has just signed a six-year lease to move to a 71,956 sq ft space in Newtown Industrial Estate at Crosskeys, Newport.

According to a new report in the local business media, the move follows the acquisition of Blaenau Gwent-based rival Mountway.

The Crosskeys industrial estate has more than 175,000 sq ft of internal storage space with 24 loading bays spread across two buildings.

Mark Thompson, operations director of Drive Medical, said: "We import equipment from the Far East and had been using third-party warehouse facilities near our West Yorkshire headquarters. But following the Mountway acquisition we decided to lease premises in South Wales for our entire national operation."

Given the sensitive nature of the activity being carried out by Drive Medical and the very high value of the items found on the premises, installing a very solid and reliable access control system at the company’s new site is really a must, and this is specifically where Access Control UK could lend a helping hand.

If you’d like to find out more about the range of solutions supplied by Access Control UK, both in terms of hardware (smart card readers, biometric readers, turnstiles, etc.) and software (access rights management software solutions, etc.), just contact us, we’ll be more than happy to answer any queries you might have.
