British Engines is set to expand and improve its Tyneside base using an £800,000 government grant obtained from the ‘Let’s Grow’ Regional Growth Fund (RGF), a news report in the local media has revealed.

The company will invest the money into its St Peter’s site in Newcastle, aiming to set a solid basis for the expansion of its BEL Valves division, a supplier of high-pressure valves to the oil and gas industry.

BEL Valves currently shares the sites with another British Engines division, Rotary Power, that is scheduled to move to a new 150,000 sq ft base on the Simonside Industrial Estate in South Shields this autumn.

Following the move, BEL Valves, that currently employs more than 450 staff, will have enough room for further growth.

Given the relative sensitive nature of the activity set to be carried out at the Newton Aycliffe plant, installing a high-end, secure and reliable access control solution is really a must.

Companies requiring secure installations can fully leverage our T340x fingerprint scanner, capable of easily reading the employees’ fingerprints to verify the identity of the smart card holder, providing total peace of mind.

Additionally, the Access Control UK biometric access control scanners are able to work quite well with most standard types of internal and external electronic, magnetic door releases and devices. They can also be combined with standard smart card scanners, enabling users to mix fingerprint reading and non-fingerprint reading access control scanners on the same security network.

Each attempted access on a scanner is logged within the access control software, allowing you to view and track employees’ movements across your site. Simple to install, each scanner controller can operate over Ethernet or standard network cabling reducing the number of additional wires needed.
