A new business park development on the Threemilestone Industrial Estate in Truro has just received a total of £3m in funding from the European Regional Development Fund through the Convergence Programme, a news report in the media has revealed.

The Walker Business Park project will involve the creation of 36,000 sq ft of office and industrial units which would be the first speculative development of hybrid industrial units in Truro for almost 20 years. It is expected that a total of 132 will be created following completion of the development.

A new junction layout at the entrance to Threemilestone Industrial Estate is also to be created using the grant funding.

Rob Walker, director of Walker Threemilestone, the company managing the system, said: "It has been a long time with the planning of this development and we are delighted that we have secured the grant funding from the Convergence Programme. Work on the scheme will start in September and we anticipate completing the development within two years."
