Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities (TORCH) building to open in the near future
Construction work on the Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities (TORCH) building is nearly complete, a news report in the local media reveals.
The Oxford Research Centre in the Humanities (TORCH) is designed to encourage collaboration between humanities and other academics, disciplines, divisions, partners, institutions and the wider public.
It will also be used for hosting conferences, workshops, summer schools and visiting academic programmes.
"It’s providing us with a space for collaboration between different academics and different disciplines, for incubating new research ideas, and it’s also a space to enable us to engage more with members of the public who might be interested in our research and to bring those into the University of Oxford to discuss our research with us" said professor Shearer West, head of the humanities division at the University of Oxford.
