Rail passengers were told to expect prolonged delays to services today (Tuesday, March 20, 2012) on one part of the network after metal thieves caused signalling problems. Cable theft caused train delays of up to 25 minutes on Arriva Trains Wales. A British Transport Police spokesman said: “Officers attended the incident alongside engineers from Network Rail and it was discovered that a total of 300 metres of cable had been stolen.”
